English early Georgian carved oak long case grandfather clock by James Webster, Salop. Arch top brass dial with angels blowing trumpets. Intricately carved oak case has a broken arch top and bracket feet. Carving at top of door appears to be a depiction of Moses and Aaron, and immediately below that is a carving of a woman in a cloister with her hand on her heart (Mary?). The bottom section of the clock is outlined by mother of pearl inlays, with a basket weave pattern carved in the center, and is surrounded by carvings of fish in each corner (the Christian symbol). 8 day time and strike.
