Sir Walter Scott, 1857, with  Split (double) Fore Edge
Paintings, bound in full red leather with intricate gold
tooling around the border of the front and back boards as
well as on the raised spine and beautifully detailed
dentelle edging on inside of covers.  Profusely illustrated
throughout the text.  Excellent condition.   Split (Double)
Fore Edge Paintings depicting beautiful scenic views with
 inset cameos of scenic views.  Published in Edinburgh
by Adam and Charles Black, North Bridge.  From the

Moxon, Dover St. London.  Printed by Bradbury and
Evans, Whitefriars.   Split (Double) Fore Edge Paintings
depicting scenic views with cameo portrait insets.  From

Printed by Bradbury and Evans, Whitefriars, for Thomas
Tegg, London.  Split (double) Fore Edge Paintings
depicting a boy fishing with a man and dog close by, and
a mother and  her children with their cat at her feet, with a
man with a dog approaching them.  There is a fine cameo
portrait inserted into the scene.   From the collection of
Sir Harry Page of Manchester, England, who was the
foremost collector of fine Victorian fore edge painted
books.

wonderfully detailed fore edge painting depicting Adam
