Early Victorian mahogany long case grandfather
clock by
George Stacey, Worksop (1828-1855).
The mahogany
case has crotch mahogany accents,
broken arch top, and
bracket feet. Beautiful arch top
dial is hand painted with
pastoral scene in foreground
and manor homes including a
castle keep in the
background, and gold and blue floral
decorations in
the four corners. 8 day time and strike.

English early Georgian carved oak long case
grandfather
clock by James Webster, Salop.
Arch top brass dial with
angels blowing trumpets.
Intricately carved oak case has a
broken arch top
and bracket feet. Carving at top of door
appears
to be a depiction of Moses and Aaron, and
immediately below that is a carving of a woman
in a cloister
with her hand on her heart (Mary?).
The bottom section of
the clock is outlined by
mother of pearl inlays, with a basket
weave pattern
carved in the center, and is surrounded by
carvings
of fish in each corner (the Christian symbol).
